Serving public schools, private schools and homeschool groups, Newport Landing has been providing students with the whale watching experience for over 20 years. Each year over 400 groups from Los Angeles and the greater Southern California region come out with Newport Landing on one of our whale watching trips. Although our trips are called "whale watching" as this is the most recognizable title, our trips cover a complete marine ecosystem and a unique learning environment that many students are exposed to for the first time. The "experience" as we like to think of it, provides endless opportunities for learning and growth.

• A fieldtrip aboard one of our safe and insured vessels to potentially view whales, dolphins, sea lions and marine birds.


• Knowledgeable crew members on board the vessel to give information and answer questions about the sightings, boat and other related inquiries.


• Grade level appropriate curriculum packets that can be printed and used to brief students on what they may be seeing on their trip and how it connects with what they are studying (see links below).


• Post trip activity sheets that connect with state standards that may be printed and given to students as a follow up learning activity

• Additional fun and educational activities available for teacher/student use (see links below).


• Optional in-class pre-trip presentation for a nominal fee based on distance.
